Application Process and Timeframes
The Creative and Cultural Events Incubator will run one round per year and will be open for applications for approximately one month.
The inaugural round is will open in February 2020. Application documents will be distributed from Friday 31 January 2020, and the deadline for completed applications is 4.30pm Friday 28 February 2020.
All subsequent rounds will be held annually in November, starting from November 2020.
Following a conversation with New Zealand Major Events, events that are deemed to strategically align with the criteria will be invited to apply to the Creative and Cultural Events Incubator.
Applicants will be required to submit an application form and a written document. Applicants are also welcome to submit audio and video files alongside their written application but these will not influence or form part of the investment decision.
Once the round has closed, an Advisory Panel with representatives from New Zealand Major Events, the Ministry for Culture and Heritage and Creative New Zealand will assess each application and provide recommendations to delegated senior officials within the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment and the Ministry for Culture and Heritage for final investment decisions.
