Creative and Cultural Events Incubator

Creative and Cultural Events Incubator

Creative and Cultural Events Incubator has been developed to help seed new and develop existing Creative and Cultural events that have the potential to become internationally significant.

About the Creative and Cultural Events Incubator

Creative and cultural events have been underrepresented in the Major Events Fund portfolio. Unlike sports events, global exemplars of major creative and cultural events are generally home-grown. This different path to becoming internationally significant means that, to develop major creative and cultural events for New Zealand, there is a need to support their early development and growth. For this reason, the Creative and Cultural Events Incubator (Incubator) has been developed.

Eligibility

Events looking to secure Incubator investment must align with the Major Events Fund’s Statement of Investment Priority. Events seeking Incubator investment are expected to be on a pathway to becoming internationally significant and financially self-sustaining.

Application Process and Timeframes

The Creative and Cultural Events Incubator will run one round per year and will be open for applications for approximately one month.

Other Events Funding Sources

There are a range of funds and grants available to events and the sector.
