The Government gets involved in the events sector by identifying, securing, funding and leveraging events that are internationally significant. This work is led by our New Zealand Major Events team.

The role of New Zealand Major Events

New Zealand Major Events advises government about investing in major events, and partners with the events sector to attract events and leverage event benefits for NZ.

Strategy

The New Zealand Government, through New Zealand Major Events, works in partnership with the event sector to ensure Major Events benefit New Zealand.

Our partners and stakeholders

We work in partnership with the New Zealand Events Association to support the event sector and are involved with wide a range of event stakeholders.
