Preparing Your Application

Application Documents

You need to prepare the following documentation prior to filling in the online application. These documents can be attached to the online application form.

1. Event Brief Document

Please use the event brief template to develop your proposal the New Zealand Major Events. This document provides an executive summary of you event, outlines its specific benefits for New Zealand and the purpose of funding applied for.

2. ME Matrix Assessment Tool

Download the ME Matrix Assessment Tool and seperate Guidelines document below. This Matrix assessment takes considerable time and requires in-depth information on your event.

  • Click on the following link to download the excel spreadsheet
  • Open the file and click "Don't update" if prompted to update links
  • Fill in the Matrix
  • Save to your computer
  • Attach to your online application with the event brief document and other supporting documents

3. Supporting Documentation

Please attach the following supporting documentation with your application:

  • Business Plan
  • Marketing and Promotion Plan (domestic and international)
  • Budgets
  • Endorsements (national bodies, relevant stakeholders, local authorities, associated organisations etc)
  • Underwriter
  • Audited Accounts

4. Submit your application

Once you have compiled your Event Brief Document, ME Matrix Assessment Tool and all other supporting documentation for your event please fill in the online application form and attach these documents.
