Application Steps

New Zealand Major Events will be implementing a new application process. From 1 July 2008, applications for funding from the Major Events Development Fund will be considered in two funding rounds - October and April each year. Details of the new appli8cation process abd timeframes will be posted on this website shortly.
Prepare your application before submitting your online application. Read the Preparing your Application page to know what you need to attach including event brief document, ME Matrix Assessment Tool and other supporting documentaion.
- You complete the online application form, attaching all necessary documentation.
- We send you a letter telling you we've received your application.
- We process your application – this may involve us contacting you to seek further information.
- A lead agency (one of the IAEG members) is chosen to make a recommendation on your processed application.
- New Zealand Major Events prepares a briefing note on their recommendation for the IAEG meeting.
- The IAEG meets to consider all applications in the current round.
- We advise you of the IAEG's decision by letter.
- If approved, we prepare and agree on a contract with you.
- You rpovide regular reports to New Zealand Major Events.
- We monitor your event preparation and staging.
- We pay you on receipt of your invoice(s) at agreed contract milestones.
- You provide a post-event report.
- We evaluate the success of our funding decision.
