[ Last Updated 10 September 2007 ]
The National Events Strategy has been developed by New Zealand Major Events with relevant input by the Inter Agency Events Group and consultation with regional authorities and private sector groups. The Strategy also outlines the opportunities and challenges we face as we look to build on and extend the event success already achieved. It has been developed to focus on understanding current and future capabilities. The Strategy will be providing support to relevant organisiations for identifying effective major events opportunities. In summary, the Strategy will focus on the following 7 priorities:
- Establish a bidding function
- Continue support to Conventions and Incentives new Zealand
- Build partnerships with Australasian organisations
- Create more effective synergies with New Zealand business
- Monitor events management industry and infrastructure
- Build regional relationships
- Build cross government synergies
